AdastraThis is the name we give to wines made from certified-organic grapes grown at Adastra Vineyards. These wines are typically aged in French oak barrels. There is usually an Adastra Chardonnay, an Adastra Merlot, an Adastra Pinot Noir and an Adastra to Syrah, since these are the varietals grown at Adastra Vineyards. 2022 Adastra Chardonnay2020 Adastra Chardonnay 2019 Adastra Chardonnay Adastra Pinot Noir Adastra Syrah Adastra Merlot |

Boundless OptimismThese bottlings include experimental wines made from certified-organic grapes grown at Adastra Vineyard grapes, for example, the American oak-aged “America, America.” We also use the name for wines made from grapes from other people’s vineyards, which may or may not be organically farmed. These are wines we want to make from grapes that require warmer growing conditions than are available at our cool Carneros vineyard. We don’t necessarily produce Boundless Optimism wines every year. 2019 Boundless Optimism Zinfandel |

Ed’s RedA negociant wine, meaning it is wine we make from blending other people’s wines together. The exact wines that make Ed’s Red change from year to year, depending on what’s available on the bulk wine market at what price. However, Ed’s Red is always a wine that is readily quaffable and fullish in body. In reference to the latter characteristic, we have used the tagline “A Hefty Wine Best Paired with Mammoth (or vegetarian equivalent)” since 2007. Soon some sort of mammoth meat will no doubt become available, to test this hypothesis. Fortunately, we’ve found Ed’s Red to be a versatile wine. (We’ve always assumed the vegetarian equivalent involved portobello mushrooms.) Ed’s Red may or may not be made from organic grapes. 2019 Ed’s Red |
